The Forklift and Telehandler Training Program takes 6-8 hours, depending on the skill level/experience of the participants as well as the number of students in the program. It consists of a half-day, classroom-based theory lesson, as well as a half-day practical lesson and assessment.The theoretical portion of the program provides a general understanding of the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and telehandlers. After completing this section of the program, participants will be able to identify specific health and safety hazards associated with operating these types of equipment.In the practical portion of the program, students are given the opportunity to operate a variety of forklifts and telehandlers under the supervision of the instructor.A certification card is issued to participants upon completing this program.Prerequisites: A driver’s license is not required, but previous driving experience is strongly recommended. Certification will not be provided is student is unable to demonstrate proficiency in operating a forklift.Required PPE: Steel-toed footwear
